Civil Engineering Department

The 4 year degree course of Civil Engineering was started in August 2011 and is affiliated to Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU). The programme has a curriculum with 81 courses / 258 credits that includes practical / seminar / training / projects etc. and it covers subjects on basic science, humanities and technology. The course structure and syllabi for the branch are basically testing knowledge and job oriented and encompass theory papers like theory and design of structures, surveying, transportation engineering, environmental engineering, foundation engineering, hydraulics, irrigation, hydrology and flood management, geo-technical engineering, construction practice and river management engineering, geo-science and number of elective papers covering wide areas of the above papers.

Electrical Engineering Department

The department of Electrical Engineering was established in GIMT-Tezpur in the year 2012 with an intake of 60 students. The department offers 4 years B.Tech programme (8 semesters) in Electrical Engineering which is affiliated to Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The department has a meticulously planned curriculum, which includes practical understanding, seminars, industrial training, projects, etc and imparts high quality education and research. The main aim of the department is advancement of the frontiers of knowledge in Electrical Engineering and to provide the students with a stimulating and rewarding learning experience.

Mechanical Engineering Department

The 4 year degree course of Mechanical Engineering was started in August 2011 and is affiliated to Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU).
