Facilities At Gimt Tezpur
GIMT - Tezpur runs college bus service along specified routes from the Tezpur city to the Institute campus. The arrangement will be continued as long as deemed necessary.
A well equipped canteen is housed in a spacious building providing hygienic breakfast, lunch, tea and snacks to students, faculty and staff members at moderate rates.
The institute has one boy’s hostel known as GIMT-Tezpur Boy’s Hostel within the campus having the total capacity of 170 seats. Rooms are double bedded. The hostel is well maintained and equipped with the facilities such as 24 hours running water supply and electricity, homely environment and hygienic food, WiFi etc. The institute has no Girl’s Hostel of its own but there are 7 (Seven) girl’s hostel nearby the institute campus authorized by GIMT-Tezpur. The hostels are single/double bedded and vigilance undertaken by a strong committee of the institute regularly.
Students enrolled in GIMT-Tezpur avail the POST-METRIC Scholarship of meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of SC, OBC & MOBC category provided by Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India.
Students belongs to ST(P) & ST(H) category also avail the POST-METRIC Scholarship provided by Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India.
Students enrolled in GIMT-Tezpur avail the POST-METRIC Scholarship of meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of minority category provided by Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt. of India.
Students enrolled in this institute can avail the special scholarship scheme for North Eastern Region “ISHAN UDAY” provided by University Grant Commission.
Students of Ex-Serviceman & Physically Disable also can avail special scholarship provided by Govt. of India.
Announcement of Scholarship Schemes: Govt. of India announces in May-June, the details of the Schemes and invites applications by issuing an advertisement in the leading newspapers. It is also available in the respective department’s websites. All requests for application forms and other particulars should be addressed to the concerned State/UT to which students actually belong. The applicant should submit the completed application to the prescribed authority before the last dare prescribed for receipt of applications.
Mode of Disbursal: In order to ensure timely payment of the scholarship amount to the beneficiaries, the payment is made mandatory to disburse through their bank account or post office accounts.
Procedure for Applying: From the financial year (2015-2016) the procedure for applying to all categories of scholarship is made ONLINE only. The list of required documents for applying is made available by the all the departments with their advertisement.
For the session 2014-2015 the range of amount of scholarship for various categories are as follows:
ST(P) & ST(H) : Rs. 16410/- - Rs. 96320/-
Minority : Rs. 12450/- - Rs. 57400/-
OBC/MOBC : Rs. 13150/- - Rs. 93400/-
SC : Rs. 13560/- - Rs. 94240/-
